
Valle de Guadalupe
A wine valley in Baja California, Mexico, about 20 km (12 miles) north of Ensenada on the Tecate to Ensenada road (Mexico 3). Wineries along the road pour tastings by reservation, serve lunch, and several have rooms. Drivers from San Diego cross at San Ysidro or Otay Mesa; cruise passengers arrive at the Ensenada cruise terminal.

Ensenada shore excursions to Valle de Guadalupe
Cruise ships dock at the Hutchison Ports ECV terminal in Ensenada. The valley is a 45 to 50 minute bus ride away, and a ship-sold wine tour takes about 4.5 hours.
San Diego to Valle de Guadalupe
Cross at San Ysidro or Otay Mesa, take the Mexico 1D toll road to Ensenada, then Mexico 3 north into the valley. Bring a passport book or card, an FMM entry permit and Mexican car insurance.
Fiestas de la Vendimia
Baja California's harvest festival runs for about 25 days in July and August in Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe. The 2026 edition ran from 5 to 30 August; the 2027 dates are not yet announced.
From the Ensenada cruise terminal
Ships dock at the Hutchison Ports ECV cruise terminal in the port of Ensenada, where shuttles and tour operators offer transport to the city center and tours. Carnival's valley wine excursion lists a 45 to 50 minute bus drive to the valley and 4.5 hours in all.
